Jowanda has been a professional trainer for over 7 years. She credits her success to many years of training as an athlete in her youth. In 2010, she gained weight after her father’s tragic death. In her grief, she decided to retrain her mind and body through strength and aerobic training. Jowanda believes that strength training is the foundation of any successful fitness plan. In addition to weight lifting, she incorporates kickboxing, TRX, endurance training, and nutritional accountability with her clients. As a trainer, her philosophy is to “touch one life at a time, one routine at a time.”
In 2015, she co-founded Maximum 28 group training studio in Brooklyn. The Maximum 28-day fitness program includes: strength, MMA, cardio, and tabata classes. Clients make new friends while they sweat together in a rigorous and exciting fitness program that changes every 28 days. Jowanda is excited to now expand her specialties in the area of pre and postnatal training. She loves preparing future moms for the physical demands of childbirth and recovery through safe and challenging fitness routines.
